Assistant Principal - Ellice Oeser
I am excited to announce my new role as the Assistant Principal at Jacksonville Commons Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year! It is an incredible opportunity to collaborate with such a passionate and professional team of faculty and staff.
As a proud graduate of Onslow County Schools, I have deep roots in this community. I completed my education at Jacksonville High School in 1993 and pursued my Bachelor of Science in English at East Carolina University from 1993 to 1997. My teaching journey began at Hunters Creek Middle School, where I taught 8th grade English and Social Studies during the 1997-1998 school year. After a brief move to Ashland, Massachusetts, from 1998 to 2000, I continued my career with Ashland Public Schools.
Returning to Hunters Creek Middle School from 2000 to 2007, I had the privilege of teaching 8th grade English while also serving as an AVID Teacher and Coordinator. In 2007, I earned my Master’s in School Administration from East Carolina University and stepped into the role of Assistant Principal at Richlands High School. I further honed my leadership skills at Northwoods Park Middle School from 2008 to 2014. After taking a brief hiatus from administration to focus on my family, I returned to teaching at Trexler Middle School, where I taught 7th grade English Language Arts and contributed as an AVID elective teacher and co-coordinator. In 2022, I embraced the call of administration once again, taking on the role of Assistant Principal at Southwest High School.
As a proud mother of three amazing sons—Timmy, Aiden, and Lance—I understand the importance of nurturing and supporting our students. In my leisure time, I love to dive into a good book, cheer for my favorite football and baseball teams, and explore the great outdoors through kayaking.
I am deeply committed to our students and the wider community. Every member of our school—custodians, cafeteria workers, teacher assistants, coaches, office staff, administrators, and teachers—plays a vital role in fostering a safe and nurturing environment where all students can learn and thrive.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me!
